When I'm out with Pongo I find myself continually trying to imagine the world from his perspective; where sight is absolutely secondary to scent. (And hearing comes a distant third. Especially when hearing involves his mum shouting his name.)
Good points Rosie. I voted 'under' but was basing it on how Tatze goes under fences etc. With a human path going by I reckon she'd also use the human path. 'Tho she does try to gallop over a local cattle grid instead of using the path round She's quirky, my dog. (like mother like dog ) ,,,
Interesting. I find it amazing that when we walk in the woods in the spring/summer and I can't see the path anymore because of the thick undergrowth, I just rely on Lucky to lead the way and he always follows the paths.
Aww. But I think he would go under that. I voted for under and around. I do have a puppy video of OBan running from OH to me in the backyard and jumping over the split rail fence when he could just as easily go under it.
It's always cracked me up how Xena will take the human path around those gates - there's a perfect Labrador-sized hole there, why don't you go straight through? I've seen her go under a couple of times, but she generally prefers the human path.
