Lost track a bit and was about to ask when David Day was then I read today's post. Thinking of you. Keep busy. Eat cake. Stock up on wine and low calorie treats. I'm sure all will go fine. Jac xxxxx
I thought "Screw the low calorie treats, just eat the cake!". Then I realised you probably meant for Mabel.
On days when your dog has surgery, you can eat and drink anything you want and it's all zero calories so you need not feel guilty either. It's magic, but quite true.
He is and very handsome I'm actually totally in love with him but don't tell OH. . I've just have the phone call from The Willows, Mabel has come round very nicely from the anesthetic. The operation was a little problematic as her Ulna is a peculiar shape to her, which meant as they tried to sit the plate on the bone it was resting on the arthritis. All in position now and he the surgeon is very pleased with the result. He will ring me again in the morning with the possibility of her coming home late afternoon. We are going out for a meal tonight I'm having a few large glasses of wine and a pudding (biggest on the menu) before the hard work really starts.
Glad to hear it went well. Enjoy your evening and don't worry - they are out for the count after surgery, she'll just be sleeping.
Good news that the surgery went well, hoping your dear girl (and you) get a good night's sleep tonight. x
Really good news from the vet, so pleased it looks like a good outcome. Hope you are having a lovely meal...and are about to roll back home
So relieved that the surgery went well. Try and get some sleep now tonight after your meal and a glass or two of wine ready to bring home your darling girl tomorrow xxx
Glad to hear the surgery went well. Phew. So glad she won't be in such pain anymore, what a wonderful gift you are giving her. Hard days ahead but every day is one day closer to total recovery.
Sounds like they've been very thorough getting her set correctly......hope you enjoyed last night? And I hope she settles ok when you get her home, she will be so happy to see you x
Had a lovely night with OH, nice meal couple of glasses of wine then a massive pudding I couldn't move. I think I have the Labrador gene of always thinking my tummy is empty and eating everything insight . I've already had an update from the hospital she has done well over night, eaten a little breakfast she's very shy which is to be expected and wouldn't come out of the kennel for ages. She has managed to put a little weight on her right paw which is really good news. Obviously no running, jumping, and on the lead outside always. The limping will be very bad to start with but get better over the next 4-6 months. The way she walks at 6 months will be the best it will ever get for her. Fingers crossed. Really chuffed this morning and feeling positive, we are off to Devon in the middle of September to an isolated beach hut for a week something lovely to look forward to.
Great to hear you sounding so upbeat, Claire. I'm glad Mabel appears to be doing well so far. And glad that you had a lovely dinner
