Re: Poorly Charlie I know, batteries. : I thought I had all chemicals safely behind baby locks - I've checked again, I can't find anything else. I hope. Unless he starts eating light bulbs* or something. But yes, put the batteries on a high shelf. I guess people with young kids know these things. I honestly didn't think to sweep the house for batteries. :-\ * Added: I've just put the spare lightbulbs behind a locked door in the cellar - you never know.
Re: Poorly Charlie If anything good can come out this accident is that we will all do just that......hide any batteries.Forum advice helps again ;D so sorry we've all had a reminder or learnt at Charlie's expense. Charlie, there are easier ways of making it into the bed you know! ;D Hope he's ok through the night,I guess with the meds he will pretty much sleep. Will look out for how he is tomorrow Nnite x
Re: Poorly Charlie Glad to see he's still on the mend!....was the first post i checked once i found some WiFi! Hope you get to go on hols. I think sometimes it's almost better to observe without a dog as you get to see what everyone else does without being distracted handling your dog
Re: Poorly Charlie Oh no! Only just reading this - what a day you must have had :-\ Glad you went with your gut feeling and just pitched up at the vet soon as. Oh dear Charlie. I do hope he is okay and no adverse effects. Extra tummy rubs from me Julie xx
Re: Poorly Charlie Wow. What a distressing incident. Glad that you dealt with it so well and that Charlie didn't need surgery. Fingers crossed that you can still go on holiday with him, even if its just in a spectating role. Take it easy Charlie (and Julie!)
Re: Poorly Charlie Here is the battery munchkin - looking brighter and enjoying his new status sleeping by the side of OH. Note. Not on the bed. Nope, never....never... [/url] image by julieandcharlie, on Flickr
Re: Poorly Charlie He still looks a little sorry for himself, though, doesn't he? : Simba says that sleeping next to the bed is very nice, you can stretch out as much as you like and humans are close enough for comfort if needs be. Hope you all sleep well, hugs to all from here, so glad the naughty boy is improving.....
Re: Poorly Charlie As they say in hospitals, he spent a "comfortable" night. He is much improved this morning, brighter and his mouth has returned to its normal colour. So fingers crossed the battery boy got away with it without lasting damage. Lovely morning view....Rule 7. image by julieandcharlie, on Flickr What? What you lookin' at? I sleep here now, not you. image by julieandcharlie, on Flickr
Re: Poorly Charlie I think maybe Charlie is thinking that every cloud has a silver lining! Glad he's doing a bit better x
Re: Poorly Charlie Cracked it then lad , so pleased that Charlie is a lot better this morning , was the first thing I thought of when I woke up , bless
Re: Poorly Charlie I suggest you invest in some Chocolate bedding, 'cos he looks like he's finally trained you about where his bed is. Just hope he doesn't snore. Glad he's back to normal, and hoping your stress rate has subsided.
Re: Poorly Charlie Ah I'm so glad to hear that he' s a bit better today ,hilarious of him on the bed....i did wonder how long he would last in his own bed......he had a plan that boy.....and he's succeeded! ;D hope your day is ok with him today x
Re: Poorly Charlie Glad Charlie is feeling better. Looks like he's comfortable. No going back now Julie his cunning plan worked. . You are going to have to get darker bedding. Chocolate duvet cover will go nicely with you decor and camouflage the fact you have a big brown pup on your bed. ;D
Re: Poorly Charlie Well he certainly knows how to get what he wants! Even if it is unconventional methods. Now that the serious worry is over and he's on the mend can we start calling him the energiser bunny??
Re: Poorly Charlie Lucky you spotted that in time, could have been a whole lot worst if he had have swallowed the battery. Happy outcome in the end
Re: Poorly Charlie Thanks all! Yes, we seem to be doing fine today. His mouth looks stacks better, and breakfast was wolfed down without any problems. So we're definitely on the up. The course organiser for next week said to definitely come, there will be things I can do. And if he continues to improve, I'll ask the vet about stopping the tramadol (I have enough for a week, but don't want to use it if it's not necessary).
