What a dreadful ordeal for you and little Fern. So pleased she is up and about, everything crossed here for you.
Oh my, how awful for you all. I can't imagine how you must be feeling. So glad to hear that she came through the operation well - fingers crossed she'll continue to recover well. Dogs are amazingly resilient. Do you know when she'll be able to come home? I imagine you're going to have "fun" keeping her quiet for a while.
Oh heavens , what a terrible time you have had . Fingers crossed that Fern has turned a corner and keeps on improving , bless her x
Oh Marge, so glad to hear that little Fern came through the op and hopefully will recover quickly and be home with you. Now she is seems to be through the worst, try to relax and get some sleep ( I know you won't have slept last night ) . Thinking of you and little Fern xx
So far so good - and well done you for getting prompt medical attention for your puppy. I hope that she recovers well and is soon home with you. What a terrible time this must be for you.
So pleased to read that so far, so good. I remember watching an op on a pup who had swallowed a needle and thread and the bowel was all puckered up, had to have some bowel removed but recovered well.
Thank goodness she survived the operation. Well done to the vet, and to you, too, for getting her to the vet on time.
Poor little girl - what an ordeal indeed. Fingers crossed she makes a quick recovery from all this. Lots of healing wishes - rest up Marge, the worst bit is hopefully over xx
OMG Marge, FIVE HOURS!! Poor little Fern. But look at her this morning....up for a wee and a poo!!! Yes, she IS a fighter and she will come through this and be a fabulous companion for you. These Labs are incredible, aren't they? Please keep updating us. Fern deserves a medal for going through this....and so do YOU.......
Just read this thread and what an awful time for you. Hope she's now recovering well and that she'll be home soon.
Five hours of surgery, that must have been an awfully long night for you, Fern and the vet. I'm so happy that little Fern came through it all and has even managed a wee and poop. What a star she is. Try and get some rest, hard I know. OMG I can only imagine how you've been feeling, very distressing time for you all. Big hug. Donna
This must be the only place on the planet where announcing that your pup has had a wee and a poo is greeted with so much enthusiasm. May you both soon be happily reunited.
Ferns not so good this morning and they are going to open her up again to see what's going on as they fear peritonitis but also there may be leakage from the cuts they had to make before. We went to see her just now and she is a poorly pup for sure. If they can't do anything they will have to let her go. Words can't describe how I feel atm, as you will understand. Thanks again for all your kind words and thoughts and encouragement, I will let you know how Fern gets on xx
Oh no.... I am so very sorry for you and poor little Fern. Here's hoping the surgeon finds the problem. How absolutely awful for you.
