Re: Poorly Aww, I hope he's better soon. It's amazing what they can get into even if you think you know exactly what they are doing at all times. As you know, Simba has survived eating chocolate (including cocoa powder), grapes, and half of a soft rubber soccer ball (all in one piece ) so take heart! Do let us know how he is in the AM, in the meantime I hope you get some rest :-\
Re: Poorly Thankyou everyone for all the well wishes,I think you might be onto something Jen.... Thanks Lochan,I saw your post in the night and felt reassured!im going to ring the very when they open today...it's a big holiday here today,( of course : )so I'll see what they say..... He did have another little upset around midnight,I thought I realised what it was ,a disintegrated nylabone chew.....so we went on a midnight hunt for it but found it intact ??? He is usually restless if I'm on the couch with him,up and down between me and the tiles when he gets too hot but he just lay still on me all night....I was boiling! Anyway he got up at his normal spritely time 5 am and sat by the door, proceeding to have a good grass graze..which isn't unusual but I stopped him,I took him on a short lead walk and he danced for his breakfast when we got in....nothing has appeared either end so far ...I don't think it's anything serious but I'll get him checked out x
Re: Poorly He sounds a lot better, so hope his breakfast stays down. They always pick a weekend or holiday to get ill don't they.
Re: Poorly That's good news Sounds like you need a good nights sleep however, hope Dexter continues to improve...what a worry though...
Re: Poorly Back from my lovely vet...as always ,Dex bounds in like an advert for good health and I start my Consultation with the words 'I feel a bit of a fraud....but....' ;D There doesn't seem to be anything untoward unless it's behind the rib cage and so can't be felt yet...it's quite hard brittle plastic so I've got some liquid paraffin to ease any remnants through ( made me think of your Nicolae Rachael and the cocktail sticks ) and an antacid tablet. He seems quite himself again now thank goodness, wanting to play, looking for food...I can feed him normally but in 4 small meals and to soak them to make sure he gets fluids but he's not dehydrated thankfully! This dog.....he'll live to a grand old age but worry over him might finish me off early ;D Thanks everybody hope you all have a healthy ,happy day with your pooches wherever you are in The World x
Re: Poorly Glad Dex is on the mend and good news from the vets. ;D I'm sure these dogs like to worry us on purpose just to keep us on our toes. :
Re: Poorly He sounds in fine spirits, and I am glad you have been reassured by a vet visit. Onwards and upwards......
Re: Poorly Glad he's bouncing back Oh Lordy, yes, the cocktail sticks : Nicolae was no stranger to the paraffin treatment.
Re: Poorly Really pleased Dexter is better. It never hurts to be over cautious and go to vets. I reckon ours thinks I'm a right old worry guts but probably like you I need to be reassured. Meg sends lots of waggy tails to Dexter and I'll send him lots of hugs and cuddles.
Re: Poorly Oh he's better alright!mythered the life out of me for the last 2 hours!why didn't I do those jobs yesterday instead of sitting there watching him .....now he thinks his help is vital and I've knocked off and played with him....much nicer than clearing wardrobes !...found out the footstool is a great jump So glad to see him more himself, hes got a play date with a spaniel this eve ,phew!
Re: Poorly
,hes got a play date with a spaniel this eve ,phew!
Those are the best. One of the reasons I want a spaniel is because they can out play Charlie. Oh, but then I'd need another spaniel to out play the first spaniel...a slippery logic slope, that one.
