Picked up poppy this morning! :)So exciting. Difficult journey as the m25 was shut but she eventually settled and slept in the crate on the backseat next to my friend. Since we've been home I've been trying to keep a rough track of her routine...but everything is quite new for her obviously. She is absolutely lovely. Very affectionate. And she enjoys most playing when I'm sat on the floor and she can bring me everything...strong retrieve already which I'm trying to encourage. Basically seems to be in a 45 minute cycle at the moment (sleeps for 30 minutes, then up for toilet and play for 45 minutes). She takes herself to her crate when tired but if I'm not sat nearby she gets back up and won't settle. If I sit nearby (and classic fm is playing!) she goes straight off but doesn't stay asleep long. I guess she is just getting used to things and hopefully will sleep longer as she feels safer. She vocalises quite a lot - doesn't seem to be distressed ...so she will be playing with something and then suddenly make a whining noise. Or she will be happy in the garden, tail wagging but then suddenly whine. I try and ignore and then once she is quiet make a fuss of her. But confused in trying to work out what she is communicating!

    She's gorgeous!

The whines are typical puppy noises and will lessen in a few days :)

What a beauty. I wouldn't worry about whining. She has a lot of new things to get used to and its all a bit worrying at the moment. Give her a few days and she should settle in to her new home.

They are so sweet and innocent at that age, it worries me what some pups have to face, though I know Poppy will have the perfect home and be very happy.

Thanks guys. Just had her up for a mad hour chasing plastic containers sliding across the kitchen Floor and galloping around the garden and she's now tucked up asleep. I'm on the air bed in the living room next door to her. I'm trying with her in the crate inside the pen with some newspaper down but we shall see how she goes.

    Goodnight all (Hopefully!)
