My OH is away for a week, so I've been juggling work with walking Poppy. I have two separate people to come and take Pops out during the day, but she is not her normal self in the evening. Normally she just cuddles up and snoozes most of the evening, but obviously she isn't getting the same amount of exercise and mental stimulation without him, as he usually works from home and looks after her during the day.

The last couple of days she's been very needy in the evening, climbing all over me, pulling all her toys out of her basket wanting to play with me, and running all around the house. Any time she hears a car or a noise outside, she runs to the door, full of anticipation, thinking it is OH coming home... Luckily he'll be back on Friday evening! She really is missing him. (So am I!) :)

    Poor ladies :'(
When my hubby us away or had odd night Harley tends to pace and sit by the front door around the time he is usually home. She is always unsettled when he's away even though I'm the one who walks her and does all the training nearly every day. I think it unsettles their routines.
Hope the week goes quickly for you both x

    Charlie is exactly the same....

When we are in Cornwall, so he knows no-one is going to leave, his tail wags 24/7. :). He is SO happy when we are in a place where no-one goes to work....

Back in London tonight after 4 days in Cornwall....he'll get a shock that his life isn't constant walks, attention and fun training games after all. I tell him "gotta go to work to bring home the seabiscuits, Charlie"...he doesn't get it though...).

Awe poor thing. They really do miss their people when they are away. Milly has gotten pretty used to my other half being away as he has been away more than half the time we have had her. He is in Isreal ATM so feeling your pain. Milly also misses my eldest son who has just started going to school. (I have homeschooled all my children for the last 9 years so she is used to them all being here. She goes a bit crazy in excitement as soon as he walks in after school. Lol

Charlie thinks his minimum entitlement is 4 people - me, my OH, my Dad, and my best friend. Then he runs round counting his people, and getting us all in the same room. Bliss is a 4 person tummy rub.... :) :) :)

It's hard when their people are away. If we don't stick to the established routine ::) Simba will refuse to come down to the TV room and curl up on his luxurious bed as he normally does. He will lie upstairs in the hall by the door, waiting for OH to come home. Which gets tricky if he is away overnight....but the reappearance of the regular routine of a few kibbles placed in his bed in our bedroom when we go to bed gets him moving. :)

My sister's cocker is the same. He has to check up on "his staff" :)
