Hi, I have noticed that a lot of forum members are posting their photos directly onto the forum and not via Flickr or Photobucket etc. How do you do that? I am pretty clueless when it comes to technology so be gentle with me please ;D x
Re: Posting a Photo Directly
I use Dropbox ('copy public link')
Me too (and I believe Jacqui does too).
Re: Posting a Photo Directly I do use dropbox. Had it pre-forum. I fiddled with Flickr and Photobucket too though and have accounts. Which one would you prefer to use Helen?
Re: Posting a Photo Directly i also use photo bucket,....i am flooding it with photos, i take at least 10 photo,s every day,
Re: Posting a Photo Directly I don't think anyone posts directly from their computers, everyone needs to use some kind of photo hosting site which they get links from. I may be mistaken though Helen, can you give me an example of a direct post and I can check
Re: Posting a Photo Directly Test using Mona Lisa symbol (below Bold symbol) and copy paste link from Dropbox. Edited.....that didn't work Photobucket has the option to copy paste the code in one go without using Mona Lisa symbol. I don't like Flickr so no idea... I much prefer to see images in posts rather than have to hit a link to them EDIT: Resized to something more manageable
Re: Posting a Photo Directly I forgot to say thank you everyone for your help. I will have a look at Dropbox but it all looks a little difficult but I really would love to post some photos of Hattie and Charlie x
Re: Posting a Photo Directly With Dropbox, I usually open the original photo up in "paint" then resize it so it nicely fits my screen, or the size I want it. Then I usually save it into my public folder (I have that as I have an older dropbox) or of you save as xxxpic-small or some such name, then copy THAT public link. I think it depends on the size of your camera, but I usually do it 50% to start with, then maybe 80% - that is using my Samsung Galaxy S3 cameraphone. Its better to chip away and make it smaller coz if you then try and make it bigger you lose some picture quality I think. I don't use Photobucket, but do have an account just because I fiddled to find what suited me best. I think if you opt for one host for your pics Helen, just ask and there will be loads of people that could help - or ask the kids - did they help before for your lovely Hattie and Charlie in the doorway photo?
Re: Posting a Photo Directly Thanks Jac, I am so embarrassed not to be able to do this :-[ Yes my boys posted the photo of Hattie & Charlie in the doorway so I will get them to run through Dropbox with me again : Watch this space ;D x
Re: Posting a Photo Directly I attach photos directly from my desktop. Under the box where you type your post, click on "attachments and other options" and use the browse button to search for the photo on your computer. There is a size restriction so you will have to make your photos smaller and will only get one or two per post.
Re: Posting a Photo Directly Just trying the add attachment thing. Another cat - sorry - no dog yet ??? No - tried twice and didn't work. Never mind, I know flickr will.

Re: Posting a Photo Directly Hi there, I have posted an explanation of why this has happened here I'm sorry for any disappointment, and suggestions are welcome.
