This is the standard method of posting photos in a forum. To use this method you will need to have your photos stored 'online' somewhere. This could be in a free photo hosting website such as 'Flickr' 'Photobucket' 'Picassa' or, it could be on your own website. There is another method we can use on this forum which uploads photos directly from your desktop, and I will write about that in another post. In the example below I am using a photo stored on the Gundog Club website in the images folder and named Bellaindex.jpg This is a picture of my eldest lab Bella You can see in the screenshot below that I have typed the web address of the photograph and then highlighted it so that it shows up in blue. The next step is to press the image button which is shown with a green arrow pointing at it. The image buttom places an image tag at the beginning and the end of the url that you just typed. If you wish you can just type these in yourself. All I need to do now is press the post button and hey presto What if it doesn't work? A common mistake is failing to type the web address accurately, so check carefully to make sure each character is correct Good luck

Re: Posting a photo: method 1 Oh - they are a couple of cuties! A question for Pippa - I use Dropbox where I can get a public link (mostly anyway) What size of pic is best? At the moment I copy mine into "paint" and re-size to 50% but not sure on the actual size without looking. Is there a particular size (in pixels??) that is perfect size - I know my first ones were far too big LOL jac
Re: Posting a photo: method 1 Oh, they are gorgeous! What a super picture I haven't quite sussed this out, but if you use the image tags [img ]xxx[/img ] with the link in between from dropbox you get the picture showing up in your post rather than just the link. Not sure if this works with photobucket but might be worth trying. You just need to click on the little icon on the left right above the smiley above. jac
