I think Stanley might have a urine infection.

He was at Doggy day care today and she said he did a wee on her kitchen floor, which he's never done.

Since he's come home, his penis is out and it looks swollen and he's not putting it back in, even when he's asleep.

Poor puppy :( I can't get him in the vets until tomorrow morning but now I'm worried about him. He should be OK for a night hopefully.

Be careful about his penis if it is still out and look swollen, I would phone vet for advice. I happened to my dog and I was advised to put frozen peas wrapped in a teacloth around it. However, if Stanley's has been out for some time, you do need to ask vet.

I would use a cool cloth on his penis to bring the swelling down so it goes back in. You don't want it out. I've had to do this with Odie many times when he was a puppy.

The vet also suggested I could use a little bit of lube for it but I never had too, cold cloth always did the trick :)

I would pone the out of hours vet, even if it is just for advice as it sounds painful. Hope he's ok x

I rang them as soon as I noticed and they said just to keep an eye on him until tomorrow and have given him their first appointment in the morning.

I tried to put a cold cloth on it but he wouldn't let me, I think it must be sore :(

It's not fully out, just the end of it.

Poor little guy, do try again with the cool cloth. Maybe feed him high value treats while doing it. They aren't meant to be outside of the sheath for long. If you have lube then put it on the cloth as well to help move it along faster.

It's gone back in so that's better. But if you go anywhere near it he really jumps so it must be hurting him.

    Poor little man :(

It's so awful when they're poorly because they can't tell you.

    Thanks everyone :)

We've been to the vets and they said his urine sample was normal and his bits have gone back to normal. She definitely thinks there's some sort of infection down there, probably the lining of his penis because he was crying and jumping when she was examining him :(. We've been given some antibiotics and he's looking much brighter today which is nice. Had to say hello to everyone in the vets :D

It didn't sound like a urine infection to me. This can happen to human boys/men. Glad he is a little brighter today :) x

Poor boy! Glad things are on the mend. Did the vet say what could've caused it?

She wasn't sure really. Said it could be an effect of his neutering since it was only 2 months ago. Hopefully these antibiotics will be the end of it.
