What a horrible time you've been having Rosamund, but glad you have found a vet that seems to fit your requirements much better. You'll be seeing your vet several times a year for the next decade or so, so it's really important to build up a relationship with a good vet, who knows and understands your dog and you. Hopefully they will work out what's going on with poor Vespa and you'll get some peace!

My oil dog had quite a sensitive tummy. When he got a bout of what we called 'gurgle gut', I'd give him those small cans of id/prescription - I think they are Hills? Expensive, but they really firmed things up in the poo department. Good luck, hope Vespa is better soon.

    Helloooo
We went to the new vet yesterday. He was fabulous. He treated Vespa with kindness but was totally practical and no nonsense which always gives her confidence. She relaxed very quickly indeed. He checked her very thoroughly and explained everything to me as he did it. Apart from the tummy thing V is in perfect health apparently-no scary stuff, weight, teeth, liver, lungs, heart, kidneys, pancreas, coat, temperature, etc etc. She's has never been checked so thoroughly. I didnt know what a good vet was. Vespa is my first dog and my old vet was consequently my first vet. Anyway, he was totally supportive of her raw diet and explained that while it was great for Vespa it slightly upped her chances of getting certain parasites and advised on what stuff I should be using. He has dogs of his own and it showed. The sample results will be sent from my old vet to him and he will decide what to do then but definitely seems to favour the less is more approach which I'm happy with. Because she's basically happy and bouncy he's not worried. Wait and see I guess!
The new vet is in the middle of a huge park so Vespa got a great walk afterwards. We went camping at the weekend in Glencoe and I was bowled over by how patient she was. It was great fun.
Thanks for all your support and great suggestions. :)

Ps no charge for vet for first alpoinments. :)

Fab news :) so glad you found a vet who you can believe in. At the end of the day our dogs are part of our family and need to be treated as such.
