    Hi all,

Apologies for the gushy post in advance.

Just a bit of an update on Goldie the Project Pooch. Its 2 weeks today since she came home, ended her 24/7 kennel life and became a pet. Her little brain must be about popping out her head with what she's learned so far. She had never been in a house before but we are still 100% toilet duties outside and she is clicking that when we go outside late at night its toilet time. You couldnt believe how happy i was when she pee'd the other night instead of just looking at me like "we playing ball?" ::) Today i left her in the house alone for the first time (un-crated) to go to the shop (10 mins away). Came back with heart in my mouth and she was in her crate asleep ;D We still occassionally have a "thats not yours" issue but she does mostly bring me her takings-apart from my trainer this morning which i found in the garden ???

Her basic commands are coming along nicely but i havent put too much pressure on her as wanted her to learn house rules first so we could enjoy each other. She knows to wait at doors, very good with the leave command (can put a plate on the floor and doesnt touch it) and is settled in the house, doesnt jump on the couch or anything and knows her boundaries. We did have a battle of wills this morning where she refused point blank to sit for her breakfast but we are bound to have lapses.

Major breakthrough today though. We were playing fetch with a toy in the garden and she does the sit/down/wait-i throw thing well now so tested her "wait" command in a different situation. Told her to go get it and half way there told her to wait and she did ;D ;D Got her to sit and come back to me where she got lots of cuddles and praise. Did this a few times and she was fab. Even got her to return to me.

I bet she is loving all the attention, companionship and metal work. Sounds like you are the best thing that could have happened to her :)
