We went away last night with the dogs, staying at a friend's (quite small) apartment. The enclosed balcony (which they keep open) overlooks a little courtyard, which is busy with people, dogs and hundreds of cats. I was so proud of W&S, who would watch all of this going on, but only gave the very occasional bark, even when a French bulldog appeared on one of the balconies opposite, about 10m away. For dogs that go days at a time without seeing another human or animal, they did really, really well. Our morning walk was an exercise in sniffing every single inch of the walls we were passing, and trying to convince Willow that she could actually go to the loo whilst attached to the lead! I found a patch of rough ground that she eventually decided was good enough for her to use. It was next to a railway line, and she didn't flinch when the high-speed train passed through within a few metres of her. Scared of a rock martin, yes. Of a massive, noisy, fast-moving train, no.
Good for them, you have every right to be proud of them. I suspect Molly would try launch herself off the balcony without hesitation !
Excellent! So you should be very, very proud. I would've been on tenter hooks waiting for either Casper or Bramble to bark..unfortunately they have started playing off each other which isn't ideal,,
I'd be proud of them as well - that's an awful lot of temptation! Their noses must be on overload if they aren't used to town.
Brilliant! Clearly they're meant to be London dogs with Charlie and Betsy rather than cruising round a million acres of supposed doggy heaven!
Hah, yeah! They were less impressed about being crated overnight, though. Or, rather, they went in the crate and settled down really well, but we had a hangover-induced lie-in this morning (until 7:30, the shame! ) and they were a bit frustrated they couldn't jump on our heads and make us get up like normal!
That's amazing, I hate standing on the platform when a freight train goes thundering past. Willow could teach me a thing or two I think!
Fiona they did so well....that was a lot of concentrated stimulae for them ..... Dexter spent the whole Summer sticking to his principles and not pooing on grass....wherever we went I had to find a gravelly surface for him to use! X
Haha, that's brilliant, Angela! I can imagine you following him round with a cat litter tray full of sand
