My puppy is a 16 week old chocolate male lab. I have never fed him human food off my dinner plate but when I eat my evening meal on the sofa, he stares at me and lunges towards me, not my food, and bites me. He doesn't do this to my husband. Other than this he is a lovely dog.
Hi and welcome to the forum It sounds like he is trying to get your attention during meals, and is maybe trying to start a game. Do you use a crate at all? You could put him in that with a nice chewy treat while you have your dinner. Or teach him to settle on a mat while you eat. Before dinner I'd do a little walk or training session with him to wear him out a little (the training session would be best for that as wearing out the brain is always the most effective way to settle dog down!).
