Puppy dandruff

    Hi,
    Have 9 week old puppy ......dandruff noticeable over last few days.....what's the best way of managing it?

    I would mention it to your Vet. It might be a reaction to the food.

    I wouldn't do anything really. Pups often go through a phase of dandruff, I don't know why this is but suspect it's something to do with the puppy coat. If you just brush them out, after a few weeks it should go away. You can add some fish oil (wild salmon oil) to their diet, but really it will probably go away by itself.

    My pup had pretty sever dandruff as an 8 to 12 week old. It was also the worst of winter here/very dry but I did add the Omega to her diet. Omega Gold (if you are in the U.S.) Her coat is amazing now. The dandruff went away quickly and I have people tell me that she is the shiniest pup they have ever seen. I decided to keep up with it because it is good for her anyway.
