We have a 5 month old lab who has had diarrhoea and vomiting for over a week now. Been to the vet 3 times and had two lots of antiemetic jabs. Bloods unremarkable and ultrasound didn’t show any obvious signs of an obstruction. In himself our puppy seems fine when he’s up and about....full of beans even, but definitely has less overall energy...He’s typically fed a raw diet, but we switched him to boiled chicken and rice (the latter which he hates!) after this all started...He’s fully vaccinated and so far the vet has no idea what it can be. I’m worried it’s gone on for this amount of time as would have expected any kind of d&v to clear up after 48 hours....
    Any thoughts welcome!

    Hi there.
No expert here but I hope your pup is on the mend soon.
I’m sure the vet said it is really important to keep fluids up with D&V.
Try boiling a whole chicken and use the water to flavour the rice and serve it wet.
Keep an eye out for signs of dehydration to avoid your pup having to go on a drip. Let us know how it goes.

Thank you for the advice. Interestingly, he hated rice! We’ve been feeding him the royal canin GI diet and boiled chicken and thankfully he turned a corner on Monday pm. His stool sample came back positive for campylobacter so at least we know what it was that caused the D&V.
