Hi I'm hoping for some advice please ,my 16wk lab has had Giardia x1 & vet thinks has probably reinfeceted, I think I read somewhere about giving probiotics ,has anyone any advice please
Hi Freebie, welcome to the forum I'm sorry your puppy has been unwell. Probiotics to either protect against or treat giardia is a hot topic of research at the moment! Unfortunately, most studies have been on mice or people, and the application to dogs is inconclusive. I think it would be unwise to rely on probiotics as the sole treatment for giardia, but you could talk to your vet about probiotic supplements in addition to medicines.
