Hi can anyone tell me how big was your lab puppy at about 15 weeks and how much did they weigh? I'm worried about the size of ours she's very small

Stanley was about 9kg at 15 weeks. He was so small.

He was 2kg when we got him at 9 weeks.

He's 29 weeks tomorrow and about 17kg now, so still small really. Although these past few weeks we've had a spurt. But he's still small for a male lab.

There's a thread in the puppies forum with lots of weights for you to compare but if you're really concerned I'd pop her to the vet :)

Sparky was 14 kg at 15 weeks. I was told by the breeder his daddy was 80 lbs. So he's gonna be a big boy.

Is your pup eating? What are you feeding him and how much? Are you following the label instructions?

Hi yep she loves her food and she's having the maximum amount on packaging ,fed 3 times a day. On top of that she's also having some wet food to try to boost her she's on James wellbeloved, in 3 weeks she only gained .7 of a kg :(

That's interesting actually.. Stanley was on James Welbeloved and his poo's were always soft, and he was titchy.

After doing some research and speaking to the vet and the people in the shop (we have a specialist pet food shop near us) we changed him to Canagan.

His poo's are definitely firmer and much much smaller and it could be a coincidence but he's definitely growing much faster. He gets weighed once a month at the vets when he gets wormed and he'd put on about 4kg last time which is the most he'd ever put on in one go.

Obviously follow your vets' advice above all, but my thought is that if you went back to 4 meals a day you could increase the total amount. I hope your vet can pinpoint the problem (if it's a health issue).

Thank you, yes she's had very soft pooh the last couple of days we put her on James well beloved as was one the vet recommended so now I'm thinking maybe it's worth looking again, we are due back at the vets in a few days but I may ring them before and see what they think ,just want her to be healthy :)

Has your vet checked her for worms? Snowie had a tapeworm infection when he was 1.5 years old and we just thought he was burning more energy cos it was a cold winter. We fed him more but he still remained slim. Then one day I noticed the tiny rice-like tapeworm eggs in his poo and took his poo to the vet to be tested. Within one week of being dewormed he put on a kg.

Hope you get to the bottom of it. Best of luck.

At 7 weeks Tilly was 7.5 lbs and at 15 weeks 27 lbs. She weighs about 64 lbs now She is a fairly small Lab.
At 7 Weeks Cooper was 5.5 lbs and at 15 weeks 30 lbs. She weighs 85 lbs and is 25" at the withers now. She was probably the runt of the litter, and now she is a Moose.

Your puppy looks just like one we met at the puppy party last week. He was only a week younger than Scully (who's a bit on the small side) and he looked tiny in comparison. The owners were probably looking at our monster gallumpfing around and being glad they had a tiny quiet puppy! Hope you get your pup sorted soon, they are such worries.

Awww poor little girl! Hopefully she'll be better soon and you can start enjoying her rather than worrying about her health!

Choking and coughing? My pup had some wretching and gagging after he received his KC vaccine. The vet denied that it could have been a side effect however put Sparky on antibiotics. Needless to say, he would still wretch and throw up some food sometimes after that. Did your pup had contact with other dogs? I think you may not have KC.

She has socialised with other dogs at puppy class and out on walks , seems really odd I just hope there is nothing serious that's being missed :(

apparently Sparky was just throwing up on food he inhaled too quickly. i saw a dog with KC at the vet (fortunately Sparky stayed home) and it definitely was not what he was doing.
