    Hi

Myself and my partner have been trying to find a lab puppy for few months, there’s lots for sale but either to far or the parents have not been health tested or one has one hasn’t etc. We have found a litter where all tests are good but the hips for mum are 6:8 dads scores are 3:3 and a puppy kept from a previous litter not sure on age but has been scored at 4:3. Both dad and pup from previous litter are good but what about mother? Would it be wise to steer clear or is it not such an issue with dads being very good? I realise that both mum and dad could be excellent which doesn’t mean the pups will follow suit but we want the best chance of have a good dog health wise. Elbows were 0 on all just to add.

    Thanks for any advice.

6:8 hips are not horrific, but there are so many Labradors being bred, that personally I wouldn't risk it and would wait for a litter from parents with better hips.
    What area are you?
