Can anyone please help me I have a lovely three month old chocolate lab Calla and she is absolutely terrified of other dogs. When we are out walking and come across another dog and if they want to speak to her she starts to shaking, whining and on the odd occasion she will pee. If the dog is on the other side of the road she will stop to watch them and then turns her head.

    Thanks

WElcome to the board. Can you give a bit more detail? What you describe does not necessarily mean fright. She could be excited. Peeing is common for young puppies when they are excited or fearful. For fear/fright I would expect to see her try to hide behind you, move as far away from the other dog as she can, maybe even lunge to run away. Cower, flatten her ears and head. Does she do any of those things? It's hard for us here on the board when we can't see what you see. The latter three I said are also common in puppies who want to meet the other dog but are acting a bit submissive, as a puppy is aware of who her elders and betters are. :)

I would not let my young puppy meet strange dogs on the street that I know nothing about. Can you try to arrange meetups with well behaved dogs you know? An older, tolerant dog would be great. That would be part of the socialization you want to be doing anyway and should help in greeting other dogs.

Hi and welcome to the forum :) I agree with @Snowshoe re meeting up with a calm adult dog, possibly arrange to walk with someone who has one , this would help a lot .

Hello and welcome from me too.
    She is still quite little.
Small enough to maybe pop in a rucksack or small bag and carry around for a bit of socialising?
It might be less threatening. Just a thought.
