In case someone would like to have an update, our Pepper has now had, her last poo samples - and their no signs of any CPV - Virus and all is clean which is good news, and she finally can have her second vaccination as she is dragging to get out and drives us crazy inside we carry her a lot around but obviously not the same. Now 2 weeks of inside guarantee and than hopefully can get out, But i got a question, our VET (who bare in mind got her through it and a lot of love specially from my wife) says a dog who pulled through the CPV is immune against it for the rest of her (hopefully) long life and even , the VET might would like to take some blood of her to inject to other pupps who have it to help cure it , however some other reports say that it could come back - anyone got a educated clue ? Further, thanks for your support I will continue to share as much I can from our experience with Pepper.

So glad to hear that she's got a clean bill of health! You must be itching to take her out and put her on the ground. I'm very curious to hear what the other forum members have to say about the lifetime immunity...

I can only imagine how really tough and heartbreaking that is to go through, I wouldn't wish that on anybody or any animal for that matter but great to hear that your little pup is back on the healthy side.

I have no education on Parvo as none of my pets have ever got it. My sister had pup many years ago that passed away of parvo. A quick google search I find this,

"The majority of dogs treated in the hospital for parvo will survive. Once an animal has recovered from the parvovirus it is not likely they will get it again. Immunity to the disease after infection lasts for several years."

The thing that also comes to mind is that there are more than one strain of the Parvo disease. Many places I read say that are indeed immune to whatever strain of Parvo they conducted but until all their shots are given, they are still acceptable to the other strains.

"There are many differnet strains of parvo virus. Your puppy will not be able to contract the same strain of parvo that she has spread into your yard with her feces. She can however still get other strains of parvo that could be around your neighborhood. My suggestion is to keep her at home until all her shots have been completed. Also, you can spray your yard with a water /bleach solution to kill the virus in the areas you know she has gone to the bathroom in."

I would suggest spraying your yard just to be safe. I'm in the same boat as not allowed to let my pup go anywhere public because he hasn't had all his shots so I too carry him where ever I go which is tough because I'm always going some where and he fights to get down. I think for safety reasons, even though my previous dog never had Parvo, I will spray my yard. He goes in Saturday for his second parvo shot so that's plenty of time for the bleach to do what it needs to and wont harm my pooch.

Best of luck to you and your puppy and I'm happy to hear she is doing so much better.

Good news. Hope you get to enjoy some puppy play outside real soon.

I don't know much about Parvo....does bleach really kill it?
