I have a 6 month old black Labrador. She is very excitable. We play in the garden and after a stretch of ball throwing fetching, dropping, catching etc play needs to end. She doesn’t want that and jumps up and starts biting which can really hurt. If I turn my back and stand still she gets the back of your legs. I am now stopping play more gradually and trying to bring her down the path with a treat by my side which is helping. But once she starts tearing round she doesn’t want it to stop. Any suggestions welcome thank.
I would suggest not repeatedly throwing balls for her or getting her addicted to this type of highly aroused play. Of course, when you remove the ball, all that arousal has to go somewhere and be expressed somehow - it's not going to evaporate back down to zero...
