Well, have been wanting to get my pup off lead for the couple of weeks he's been able to go out but everywhere round here is so busy I have been reluctant to do so (very nervous). Well, this truly abysmal weather has been the answer...nobody about. This morning a friend and I took our pups (she has a gorgeous 4 month old westie) and we took the plunge together. Fantastic! The pups didn't stray too far and had each other to play with. I didn't attempt a recall at this point but did make a big fuss of him on the couple of occasions he came to "check in". Glad to have it under my belt so to speak. Thank goodness they can only exercise for such a short time though, I'm drenched, the car is soaked, and the house is covered in wet and muddy footprints (despite the towel dry and vet bed lined cage for the journey home). Guess this is the way it is from here on in, have only just finished cleaning the muddy fall out from the boys football match at the weekend!! Thank gawd I don't have carpets downstairs.

Oh good for you :) :) I guess it was different for me because when I had Sam, I also had another adult dog so he tended to do whatever she did, it must be so much harder when thats not the case, and a worry too, so well done all round :)

Good stuff. It's really scary letting them off for the first time, but usually works out fine. The mud, I'm afraid, is a fact of life. ;D

Yeah - congrats, but a word to the wise - learn to love mud and water. It's easiest in the long run. ;)

Well done, that's a huge scary step, now just to get used to the mud and all the rest ;D

Seems like mud is now part of the family - although with 3 boys it was hardly spotless to start with!!
Here's a picture I took on my phone this morning of Digby and my 2 year old running together in the beautiful Ashridge estate, Herts, near where we live. What a gorgeous morning.

The image is not displaying because the code you have put in between the image tags is actually a url or webpage with your photo embedded into it. I have tried to find a option for embedding the actual image from your page but I can't see one. It may be that I cannot access it because it isn't my account.

So I have changed your image tags to url tags so that the web address of your photobucket webpage is displayed.
At least we can click on the link to see your photo, which is lovely :D

Photobucket should be able to tell you how to link directly to the photo itself, but the code you put in between image tags must always end in .jpg If there is any code after the .jpg, then it isn't image code.

It would help so much if all the different photo hosting sites would simply use the same system as one another! ;D

    Got it!

    Here is how

Next to the options tab there are four buttons. From left to right: a facebook button, one for twitter, one for email, and one with an arrow. Click on the one with the arrow and you get three tabs

    • [li] Social networks [/li]
      [li]Email[/li]
      [li]Links[/li]

Click on 'links' tab and you get a list of links

The link to use is 'direct link'

Copy and paste this into your post and wrap it in image tags. The opening image tag will be img and the closing image tag will be /img

Don't forget to wrap both your opening and closing tags within their own set of square brackets []

    And hey presto

Hopefully this will work for all photobucket accounts. If anyone else with a photobucket account can confirm this, I will post this up in the technical section

Thankyou Pippa - very much appreciated. I was getting most frustrated as I know I've done this before when I first introduced myself and posted a piccie of Digby and couldn't work out what I was doing differently. grrrrr....

Anyway, the picture is a route down to the lovely Ashridge House which is also a bridal way (was constantly listening and looking out for horses). We did see some but fortunately Digby was on his lead then as we were getting closer to the road. He wasn't scared at all but would I think have run up to them if he could have, he didn't bark though which I was pleased about.
Ashridge is well worth a visit if any of you are ever this way and fancy a lovely day out with your 4 legged friends: http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/ashridge/
