is it ok for my 11 week old lab to go up and down stairs?i have no way of blocking them and she insists on following us upstairs.
A Norwegian study published a few years ago showed a greater incidence of hip dysplasia in puppies that were allowed to climb stair before 12 weeks of age. And the current thinking is that it is not good for young puppies to do so. If you are going upstairs and you know the puppy will follow you, then I guess your alternatives are to shut her in a puppy proof downstairs room, carry her up with you, or crate her downstairs for a while.
