Pups can get overexcited very quickly and they have sharp teeth. Pups explore the world with their mouths so is probably getting a bit mouthy. I wouldn't leave them alone in a room together without adult supervision. When pup gets overexcited you could get you daughter to play 'tree' - get her to stand up, cross her arms and stay still for a few mins. If pup doesn't stop then pick him up and put him in timeout for a few minutes. I played this a lot with my nephew who was 4 years old when we got Harley and it really helped us manage her.

Young pups and five year olds can play, but the child needs to learn appropriate ways to play with the pup and what to do when the pup gets over excited.

The pup will slowly learn but this will take months, there is no magic cure to excited play :)

    Here is a good article - http://www.thelabradorsite.com/how-to-play-safely-with-a-labrador/
