Let me preface this by saying: I always knew our pup would shed and in preparation for his arrival, I got a VAX airlift pet vacuum :’) I am surprised by the sheer volume of fur he is losing all of a sudden! His groomer says that he is losing his puppy coat (he is 21 weeks old on Sunday). He had a de-shedding treatment at the weekend, this has not reduced shedding. I can easily fill up the vacuum if I vacuum twice a day at the moment (nb: the whole house). His coat is lovely and thick and shiny so I am not overly concerned about his health but... is this volume of shedding normal?!
There was a point with my Lab where if you slightly touched her there would be hair all over your hand. I think it's losing the softer puppy coat which makes it seem more than what's normal
