    Hi Friends

Just wondered do Labrador s change in there temperament as they mature or can they become fearful of things .

Ziva for all her wee troubles she is very laid back character ,nothing fears her , just takes everything in her stride. Could this change as she matures

Hi there - ongoing socialisation is important, throughout their teenage months and into adulthood. If they get very settled into the same routine day in and day out then changes to that can cause them to be fearful. Once all the puppy parties stop, and if going to new places stops so they don't meet new people and new dogs and so on, then they can struggle if you ask them to do new things (even if they did them as a puppy). But apart from that, I'd say a relaxed, laid back puppy (lucky you if you have one!) is likely to turn into a relaxed, laid back adult.

Thanks Julie She will be 5 months on Sunday and I am still taking her lots of places ,meeting up with people and other dogs( not as much) but she still see's them so as long as I continue with this for good while yet we should be ok. :)
Yes despite her issues you'v perhaps read about on here she is very laid back, nothing fears her well nothing that we have seen up till now and does take everything in her stride. So don't want that to change :) :)

Calm and laid back Labrador puppies are very rare - to get one, I think you have to be a saint in a previous life or something like that. :)

Well , I doubt I was ever a saint in a previous life and certainly not a saint in this one ;) But I am one very lucky lady to have had a very laid back ( almost horizontal ) puppy who went on to become a very laid back adult . I`ve had Labs before and they were nothing like Sam has been , to the point that I often thought there must be something wrong with him , my Vet rolling his eyes as I once again turned up to have Sam " looked at " . Don't get me wrong, he has had his moments but on the whole , they have been rare as rocking horse poo :) I did take Sam out and about , a lot , lots of different venues such as café , pubs , new walks etc .

Can second that feeling - Juno was a laid back puppy and continues to be a very relaxed, laid back little girl who has gone through x-rays, scan and operations without batting an eye and still loves going to the vets :D
