Are bubbles safe for puppies? I have actually seen dog bubbles in Wilkinsons which are non-toxic but they were made in china so bit sceptical. My kids really moan if one pops in their eyes too. Whatabout empty toilet rolls? Definitely going to get my princess a kong & a nylabone.
Re: Puppy toys I would say no to the bubbles. Particularly if the hurt the children's eyes!! Empty toilet rolls are fun, so are e mp try cardboard boxes.
Re: Puppy toys I went mad on soft toys at first, which were great - for about 2 weeks. In particular, before he started chewing, he slept with a stuffed duck: http://www.flickr.com/photos/97932779@N08/9130065544/ (sorry about quality of pic, I was using my iphone, this was 5 minutes after getting him home - he picked up the duck and went to bed) I quickly moved on to more robust things - the most successful in the early days were a big fleece ring that he found very comforting: http://www.flickr.com/photos/97932779@N08/9107201566/ And then rope puppies bones that he could chew at to unravel but not actually pull bits off to swallow. Then he went on to antlers at about 6 weeks. After that he moved on to slippers, shoes, rose bushes, my ipad, cushions, geraniums, blackberry bushes, the entire contents of the recycling bin, the log basket...
Re: Puppy toys Didn't know there were such thing as doggy-safe bubbles. Lilly used to love chasing bubbles - rarely caught any, and always used them outside. No idea if any got near her eyes, but I suspect the wind didn't give them a chance to get near her. jac (He He - just saw your post Julie ;D )
Re: Puppy toys With empty toilet rolls, you can put a treat inside and fold the ends in - makes it more challenging and extends the fun!
Re: Puppy toys oh rachael , what a star you are i never thought of putting a treat in the empty kitchen/ toilet roll tubes
Re: Puppy toys Even worse, really, it was an ipad that a client had loaned me - luckily, it was just a bit scratched, but the screen was really wobbly and strange for a bit. I polished it and gave it back without mentioning it had been chewed by a puppy...
Re: Puppy toys Ah, the new generation... Back in my day pups used to chew things made of paper with printed writing - we called them "books".
Re: Puppy toys Simba discovered the book shelf tonight... Sigh... On the bright side, he has not even sniffed at my iPad...
Re: Puppy toys Beulah likes newspaper - off to get her a few things today. She does have a passion for shoes/feet - whats the best way to tell her no? I just keep redirecting her with something else.
Re: Puppy toys Redirecting is the right way to go for now with a small pup. Firm (but kind) 'no', and show her a toy she is allowed to chew. But word of warning - some labs never grow out of their passion for shoes. I came home from work yesterday and only one of my new leather flipflops was in its place by the door. The other was in her bed. Not chewed, you understand, just taken in there as a trophy...
Re: Puppy toys haha thanks for the word of warning - thing is she mostly likes the shoes when they are on our feet at the moment!
Re: Puppy toys Otis has a foot fetish too, he loves tearing the strap off my shoe and playing with it, he loves licking and biting my feet as well, funny puppy .
