A friend who I walk my dog with occasionally discovered rabbit skin tennis balls at a game fair recently. Molly seemed really interested in them so I bought her a few and my goodness she LOVES them! Whilst she will happily play all day with toys at home or at training I've found it difficult to get her to play or fetch out on walks.

Well this week I've been out with the rabbit balls and she will happily fetch them for me in the fields. I am so pleased! We had a great session yesterday out on the heath where I was dropping the balls into a bank of heather so she had to sniff them out. It was great to watch her little tail wagging away and then see her racing back to me with her prize. I would really recommend them. The only downsides being they do stink and they can get a bit manky after they've been carried around for a bit in a dogs mouth.

    Go Molly!!!

We love a bit of rabbit skin here too. Helped enormously with enthusiasm levels when we were having a hiccup and if Riley is a bit flat or working on something new it's still my go to dummy to help him out :)

As with all dogs focused on "their" dummy be it rabbit skin or otherwise you might want to bring other stuff back into the mix once you've really got a retrieve established. Then you'll have more flexibility and les soggy rabbit skin bleugh!!

Ah, brilliant! Isn't it lovely seeing them working so happily? Though I have to say I only used our rabbit skin dummy once, as it induced a state of almost orbital excitement in Poppy...

I treated myself to some more retrieving toys as a Christmas present and they arrived today so we've been out in the fields playing with them. She loves the small, soft mouthed dummy that I got for her. But her new favourite (possibly nearly as good as the rabbit ball) is a tutor bird. I'd never heard of these but thought I'd give it a try. It's red and scented and about the size of a partridge but made out of synthetic materials. She loves it! We were playing with it on and off for about an hour. It was a bit pricey but such fun! :)
