Any thoughts for some indoor play??? It is pouring here and Jessie doesn't like the wet (is this normal for a Labrador????????) She didn't want to go out for a walk and we normally have the kitchen door open all morning so she can potter in and out, but far too wet for that. So she's bored, chairman of the bored... So far she's discovered that if she stands on the bin she can reach the fridge magnets and has been picking them off one by one along with the children's artwork and certificates. She then went on to shred an empty cereal box. Then she rounded off with a game of hurtling around the kitchen at 100 miles an hour chasing after her bowl barking.... This has worn her out and she is now asleep... But something more constructive for this afternoon would be good! We did the normal training around the havoc, but her attention span is short, so I tend to only spend 10 mins at a time with that! Other ideas gratefully received!!

I feel your pain!! Mole hates the rain too, am sure my last one grew out of that pretty quickly!! We put on the full waterproofs and went out anyway to the woods and am glad we did as now have a tired pup!!
Try hiding treats and toys in cardboard boxes - mine literally loves cardboard boxes, old foil cardboard rolls etc - the more the merrier!!
Am wishing the rain away - hard work with puppies!!
    Tomorrow looks better :)

Never had a problem with Juno going out in the rain, she loves it. The rain seems to change how things smell so Juno has lots of fun having a good sniff on our walks, that and playing splashy/splashy in the puddles. Could you take Jessie out somewhere different for a walk, you may find that all the different sights and sounds makes her oblivious to the rain

I am going to try a walk! I was all togged up ready to go earlier and she sat on the drive trying to get back in the house, but it was torrential then! It is a bit better now, so we will try again, if only for 10 mins around the block! We are in a rural town and a lot of the routes out were flooded this morning, so we can't really try anywhere new. Hiding food in boxes sounds like a good idea too! She would live that. Food AND boxes!!

Have you tried the empty-plastic-bottle-with-a-few-pieces-of-kibble-inside? A 1.5 litre water or soft drink bottle works well.

Rosie, we tried the bottle! What a stroke of genius! She loved this. I may start giving her, her dinner in one to distract her from trying to steal the kids good!

If she loves the bottle, she will love a Kong Wobbler! The best puppy toy ever!

    Ah, glad that worked! :D

I am going to start taking bets on how long you last before the sound of plastic bottle being chased around and around and around and around and around drives you stark-staring-crazy.... ;)

Mabel loves the kong wobbler too, I also fill a Kong half full of mashed banana and peanut butter, freeze it then hide it in her toy box. Great fun.:D

Ha, plastic bottle noise was fairly annoying, but better than her barking after her food bowl, which she turns upside down and then can't get a purchase on, and it drives her crazy! Kong Wobbler? Sounds fantastic, I will try and get one!

The Kong wobbler is on Amazon. We tried the kibble in a plastic milk bottle this morning and it bought me a nice relaxing bath - I could hear the milk bottle rattling around - and nothing chewed that he shouldn't when I came back down - happy days!!

Warning....if you're using a bottle, don't leave the lid on (we did that to make it last longer, but it didn't take long for Pongo to get it off and nearly swallow it....

I gave my Kong Wobbler away. I pretend it's because it wasn't practical with two puppies, but if I'm honest with myself, a lot of it was the bloomin' noise!

My OH used to leave the house when I got the Kong wobbler out, couldn't stand the noise or the flying slobber! Jura loved it!
