It's really not funny @SteffiS , so I do apologise for laughing myself silly. Look on the bright side - you've got a lovely clean house for Christmas!
In our house call that the brown tide. I got exploded dog bottom ' on my cream curtains but they had a grid pattern becuse he was in his crate when he exploded. All 3 of em got it. It took 3 hours to clean it up and it was very liquid it was eveywhere. I sympathize and send hugs x
@SteffiS I do sympathise as Vanilla has been ill since Saturday last week and only just now getting better (over a week). Several trips to the vet as we could not put our finger on it. Hope it passes quickly and does not spoil xmas. But like @edzbird said you have a clean house for xmas
After 48 hours camping on the back lawn of my sister in law's house - we're home! And surprisingly it wasn't the people that were the problem, but my sil's 6 month old lab. Who would have thought that a dog who is an outside dog, spends far too many hours in his small kennel, is completely untrained, has zero toys/fun with humans, rarely leaves the property (walks, what walks?), and is a manic humper, is a complete nightmare to be around!? Poor Xena. We managed the situation as best as we could, but I am never repeating that. And yes, I'm completely furious on behalf of that puppy. The entire situation with him (I only gave you the highlights) is a cluster-sausage of not quite epic but still significant proportions. It made me love Xena that much more, though.
Rory has just dragged me into a hedge ( no jokes please I know I already look like that ) he saw a ball, so in we went. We'd just done a 2 1/2 hours country walk and i was already in a fair bit of pain but now I'm in agony. Why is it he walks so beautifully most of the time but occasionally looses his mind. I threatened to strangle him but he just laughed and wagged his tail. He then realised something was up and behaved like a saint all the way home . He just does this diving im so furious I'm just no use when I'm in that much pain. I took Moo out when we got back she is just mental she took off up the street so fast you'd think she was fine such a funny little thing. We're all on the sofa now.
I've got some pain relief and a tens machine and some orangettes. Ive put a BIG fire in so it will all be fine in a bit
Oh swampdonkey, never a dull moment with your crew. Because there's nothing to report. Access to shelter/food/water is all you have to provide for a dog. It's neglect by all of our standards but it's not neglect legally. The puppy is treated like that because my in laws are idiots. There is a very good reason that we rarely see OH's family.
Ah things can go back to normal now. We went to my parents house on Christmas eve, got there at noon and didn’t leave until noon the next day. Odie and Axel are always welcome there so they of course came with. They were good as gold, granted Odie always is but Axel hasn’t been there in about 6 months so I was worried he would be a bit nuts, but he was so good. We then went for Christmas dinner last night to OH’s moms house. She doesn’t allow Axel over because she doesn’t want him to scratch her fooors. So no dogs allowed there, but they were so tired from their adventure at my parents house that I know they slept peacefully until we got home. I’ve had 12 days off and have to go back to work tomorrow, I’m not ready for that
Oh I'm so, SO sorry - I've only just seen my spelling mistake - after edits have closed. Hangs head in shame.
Rory's a stunningly well behaved dog, an absolute credit to you and your training. The fact his 'moments' are so few and far between mean they stand out. And he's still young. I wish Monty was half as chilled as he is. Sorry you are in pain though.
Bramble has collected ALL the packs Christmas toys and is guarding them fiercely on the sofa...they are her puppies now. Woe betide Benson or Casper if they come anywhere near them. It is nerve-wracking sitting next to her right now. Sigh...her timing is exquisite. It was funny watching MIL and my mum perched on the edge of the sofa so not to disturb madam yesterday!
Poor thing, that's sweet but probably very stressful for everyone involved. Are the boys good at leaving her alone?
Oh yes! The boys are giving her a wide berth! Our two families are very dog savvy, so no problems there. MIL adores Bramble, who smelt like she was doused in Chanel No.5 last night! Obviously no shortage of cuddles there!
Oh I've forgiven him hes such a sweet boy I shouted which is unusual enough for him to look at me like I'd gone crazy. That made me get a grip and realise I was having a bad day and calm down. I think they all have their moments. Monty is lovely he's one of the happiest dogs ever met, he's just the king of fun you are very kind hes still a work in progress.
Good taste in perfume! Monty goes to our neighbours for 2 afternoon each week when we are at work, he comes back smelling of her perfume, I think it's sweet and like the fact Monty has had lots of cuddles, OH thinks it's a bit treacherous of him.
