I've just spread some around the train seats so people can take a little bit of Holly home.

Had a wonderful walk with my tribe this evening. Willow was so happy, it was gorgeous. At the end, I was on the floor, giving Squidge a tummy rub and Willow ran up and gave me a huge kiss. Which would normally be lovely, except she was really frothy round the mouth. And my mouth was open. And it went inside.

    Dog goo in my mouth.

    EEEEEEEEWWWWWW!!!!!

Met one of my Labrador chums yesterday. He was laughing a Moo and could believe how old she was. She was up to her usual tricks :)and giving his young dog a good checking out. We both were in a a smiley mood cos his heart test have come back fairly normal and amazingly I still in a kind of partial remission. This time last year We were both going through some major stuff. It was so nice his dogs coming on wonderfully and is such a cheeky happy boy. We both agreed what a huge difference having our dogs had made to our recoveries they've made us laugh and keep us fit and focused. Its good to see him he's a recent convert to dogs but he really gets it

Just had a a major disagreement with a lady at my work about training methods. Apparently a well timed correction is essential for good heel work and our dogs live to please us and we need to correct them when they've done wrong.

I had to walk away

There's a lady at training (who only lives 5 doors away from me) with 2 Border Collies (she brings only one at a time). This week she had Fly, an oldish barky dog. She's quite "up herself" and I often feel her looking down on Coco, but hey ho! This week she said to Fly "I've had enough of your barking, the collar's coming out" and she took out a collar with a box on it. In horror, I asked her what it was. "Oh it's not harmful, I press the remote and it either beeps or it sprays citronella" she demonstrated it. She said "I rarely need to press it, just wearing the collar is enough". Poor dog must be terrified. Off she went, re-applying the Halti that Fly had pulled off yet again...

And there you have the proof that the dog isn't being trained whatsoever. Why these people, who are often the ones so disparaging of using treats because "it's bribery", can't see that this is the exact same thing as people who can't get a behaviour without the treat being waved in front of their faces, is beyond me.

Oh ok, not harmful...so if you go to the next class and suddenly spray citronella in her face when she does something you don't like, I suppose she'd be totally fine with that right? "Just a little harmless correction, dear!"

    People are infuriating...

I just wonder what it is just arrogance ignorance lack of empathy or do they just like the feelings of power and just being mean. I think in Cocos case it's jealousy I mean look at him. Who wouldn't want a fantastic dog like Coco and who wouldn't what a bond like you two have. Shes just mean creature and that cruelty probably colours ever aspect of her miserable life.

Feeling happy after this morning's walk...one of the park regulars used to leave her dog home for the full work day, sometimes up to 10 hours :( After chatting with some other owners about behaviour problems they were having at home (he's obviously bored!), and how others manage working+dogs, the little guy is now going to daycare and they have started 1:1 training. I think he's going to be much happier!
