Right, 11.30am - time to start getting my humans used to the idea that I'm due my next walk in 30 minutes. It'll be no biggie though, just a trot up the bridle path. Sometimes I give Dad the slip and leg it to the beach though.

I'll have to hurry him up, because I'll have to get back in time to remind Mum that she promised a special outing every holiday day and she'd better not be thinking it'll be to some old Church again like yesterday - I want a new beach, at least today. Although it was a good long walk there and back, I think old Cornish churches are extremely boring and do not count as a special outing. So she's way in debt now on the whole special holiday outing thing.

Something's going on. The kitchen smells of sausages and turkey and bacon and lots of wonderful things. This happened last year and I got lots of extra bits with my meals. PLEEEEEEEASE let it happen again.

Oh Lily, that's rough. Sympathy. BUT, I usually find that if something smells really good I do end up getting at least some of it, so maybe it will work out alright for you.
I hate the idea of Sham Poo. I mean, I'm not a big fan of real poo (I know some people love it, but it just doesn't do anything for me really), but at least it is real, not sham. Mum tells me that Holly has found a book that you might like, though... she says that @Hollysdad put something about it on here this morning.... why not point your mum at that and see if she gets the hint?

I've been into the garage again today - the meat is all still there. There is a duck, Charlie. I've never had a duck! I hope it's for me. There's turkey too, now I KNOW I like turkey...and there's more besides. The duck MUST be for me surely? I thought about grabbing something while Dad was busy, but I couldn't decide which one, so I grabbed a hunk of rope and ran round the garden with it, and I have to say, it was good fun - I almost got him to chase me :run:

It's tree-day eve. Daddy's put things under the tree that smell very interesting. I can smell bone and venison and sausage and toys and bonio and all sorts of nice stuff.

I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight - it's too exciting!

I've been a bit naughty today - Mum said I was over-x-sited. I had to go in my crate cos I accidentally bit the visitor that's staying here over Kriss Muss :( (but she got in trubble for something called 'winding me up' :D , but she didn't have to go in a crate :( ).

Then I jumped up and bit Dad on my walk cos he wouldn't let me off the lead :(. Feel miserable now - I really didn't mean to bite :(. Hope tomorrow is a better day.

Oh Ripple, please don't be sad! We've all done it, it is just part of being a Labrador. We just get over-excited. Your mum and dad still love you very very much, it's just that they sometimes don't understand us as well as they should. I'm sure tomorrow will be a nicer day... just go to sleep now and it will all be better in morning. All your friends here on the forum are thinking of you. Poor boy.

Thank you Pongo - Mum say I'll still have a luverly Kriss Muss so that's ok.

AND the visitor (who I don't think is a real visitor as Mum says she's my hooman sister) got into even bigger trubble cos she ate all the mince pies and THEN ate all Mums Malteesers except for one which she left in the box. Mum knew it wasn't me cos I can't reach the chocolate cupboard.

Charlie, shouldn't you be guarding that duck? I mean, it might disappear if you go out. I wouldn't take any chances if I were you.

A big white box full of delicious-smelling meat arrived yesterday and we watched Mum unpack it, but before we could help she'd whisked it all away into the fridge and freezer and said it wasn't for us. She's been doing something with sausages and bacon this evening, so Tuppy and I waited... and hoped... and drooled... but nothing fell on the floor. :( All we got were a few measly old carrot tops when she was cooking supper!

Forget the walks - guard that duck. If you manage to get it all for yourself you could post a bit to me!

Oh no, Ripple! Cheer up! It's Christmas! I've been a bit over-x-sited too 'cos I want to see what's in all the parcels that keep appearing. I'm sure they're all for me!

Tomorrow will be a lovely day if you keep away from the wind-up-visitor. I'm going to try my very best to be good...

Aww Ripple, it's not your fault. That "winding up" thing that they do...they can't help it. They get over-excited, probably over-tired. I really don't get why you were in the crate - it SHOULD have been the windey-uppy-human. Still, you were safe from further winding-up from her.

Ah, Wispa, I love my walks - even more than Duck! Anyway, I've checked, and the Duck is still safe where I left it.

I was too busy 'helping' with the Salmon en croute tonight to worry about the Duck too much! Mum hates Salmon, so Dad needed my help eating it. I really put in a star performance helping. :)

    Burp.

I'm still too thin! So Dad is allowed to feed me whatever he likes! I'm making the most of this!
