James MacDonald Lockhart wrote this partly as a tribute to William Macgillivray and also a record of his own bird watching wanderings.
I really enjoyed it. The descriptions were captivating and the way he explained the hunting and habits of the birds exciting. It just made me want to get my binoculars and head for the woods. Its nice to know someone likes to wander for the sake of wandering and loves nature too

Is the title of the thread the name of the book? It looks right up my street, I love all the wildlife I get to see when out and about with Cassie.
