Hi guys, So we got our boy on raw feeding now, complete range from natural instincts (4.9 score) We have had a history with him with soft stools. He was on wainwrights before and wasn't awful, semi formed poos and around 5-6 daily but as it was still a fair few and not forming we decided to go raw. Day 1 we saw his poo firm up across the day, think we gave him 400G over 4 meals that day. (according to package) then on day 2, the website suggested 300-360g so we went 360g over 4 meals. Day 2 First poo was solid (whoo hoooo!) then after his first meal he went a bit runny with a spot of blood. (not loads) then no more poos then until bed time around 11pm which again was solid with a few drips of runny at the end (no blood). We did reduce his remaining meals amount Due to a repeat runny, we decided to lower his food today to 320g Day 3 (today) First poo was solid with a few drips of runny then again after his breakfast - he had a small amount of runny with a spot of blood. We're really confused how it can be so random. On kibble before this change he was pooing almost double and quite alot of it each time too so maybe its his system adjusting to the cold turkey and the blood is from his previous more regular poos. Maybe to much food ? We are feeding him probiotics currently @ 10g per day to try to help. Hes perfectly happy in him self, just not gaining alot of weight (5.9kg @ 12 weeks) dont think hes going to be a chunky lab. What do you guys think? Continue on what we are doing and maybe his system will adjust for it? I really want to feed him up as seems under weight (can see partially see ribs) Cheers guys
Hi , the transition from kibble to raw can sometimes cause the odd blip , so I would definitely give it a little longer . He is still only very young , so yes, give him time to settle to his new regime , good luck x
