How long will it take a 5yr old lab to recover from neutering? We may be adopting a lab soon and would probably have him neutered maybe nov 18th or so. he should be all healed by Dec 1st right? We need to take a short trip and would have someone watching him, but i'd like him to be healed.
I would be tempted to wait until you come back. Only because it will be a bit traumatic for him, a lot for him to deal with at once. It won't take him long in terms of the op, but it might pay you to take things a bit easy, get a few visits in to the vet for a check up, weigh in etc. Good luck, he looks lovely! We adopted Casper, 3 years ago, he was five then, and had just been castrated a couple of weeks before he arrived. Would have much rather they waited, or not had him neutered at all.
