I like that it could be shortened to Gwen or even Winnie - adjustable pretentiousness levels. :D

I think I've already shared the story of Pongo's KC name. We'd been to the breeder, chosen our puppy and decided his name was Pongo. Then we were at home having a glass or two of wine and talking about how some people choose to spell their names in weird and pretentious ways. We were playing with how we might spell Pongo's. Did I mention that there was a glass of wine involved? Then the phone rings and it's his breeder. She's phoning to check what name we are going to give him. We are first time dog owners and assume it is just so she knows what to call him between now and when we pick him up. So we tell her that his name will be Pongo, but we also tell her (jokingly....the wine....remember the wine) that we are going to spell it this weird way. And to make it worse she writes it down just slightly wrong too.

And that is why Pongo's official Kennel Club name is <breeder> Phongeuax.

I will never get tired of this story :cwl::cwl:

Although, I wonder if "a glass of wine" was an accurate measure of the amount consumed prior to the official naming? :p

Ahem...wine was involved when we decided to give Max and extra x. Hubby bought some undies (Australian for underwear) from Target and it had MAXX written all around the waistband (I'd insert a pic but really I shouldn't....maybe when I've had some wine) so that's how the poor beast got his strange spelling.

My Brothers Husky Bandit has the birth name of Will Scarlett. I think DoggyMcDogface is quite Regal. Lol.

When I was a child we had a Zemus (boy) and a Zirca (girl). Both were tall, broad chested, dominating (in staturenot personality!) fearless Bouvier des Flanders. Amazing dogs, and I think the names are quite mjestic and regal!

Is that Duggan, @Johnny Walker? He's so regal! I assumed he was a choccie by your avatar, but he's actually black? Or is he just a nice 72% cocoa, I can't tell :D Either way, super regal.

The link works. Does flickr not have a "bb code for forums/message boards" option?

He’s 99.9% black and has the Bolo spots on his paws... white triangles on the back of his feet.
