Removed from the pack

Hi
My 10 year old boy died 3 years ago.
The night before he died, it was cold dark and raining hard. He wanted to be let out into the garden. After 19 minutes I went to find him, he was at the furthest part of the garden just lying in the wet cold dark.
Now I know this was him leaving the pack.
My question is - should I have left him?

 

Don't beat yourself up 3 years later. He certainly appreciated everything you did for him.
