Just with the mention of tails on another thread....thought I'd post a couple of pictures of Dexters tail now the fur is almost fully grown back

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/97066992@N03/12147022045/in/photostream/

I love the little kiss curl he's growing on the end :*

I do still hate that he had to have it done but it really was the right thing...and it hasn't impacted on his life in any detrimental way...we've done a lot of entertaining this weekend and it's been commented on more than once about how our wine glasses are safe as his enthusiasm for a good old wag has not abated on any way ;D thankfully

    That's a cute curl :)

You don't need much tail to show your enthusiasm for life. Most of the hard-core waggers bring the head and butt into play - now that's waggin' :)

ONLY on the Labrador Forums would this be considered normal behaviour! :)

It's unique, and cute. It's like having an honorary spaniel tail, just like Muffi! The curl on the end is super sweet. I bet Dex doesn't care, and I bet he wags just as good as ever!

I know you are sad about it, but it was the very best thing for all of you.
You have been so much less stressed since it was done - noticeably :D

Ah thankyou everybody....we've just been into the vets for his booster injections....he was so good, what a difference a year makes,he sat by my feet as good as gold, then lay down and didn't get up as any of the other Clinic 'traffic' passed through reception.little whine when a small dog was whisked out of his sight but I think it was because he was miffed at being good and not being rewarded with a sniff of the dog ;D
Full, clean bill of health 22.4 kgs ;D Little Yellow Fellow that he is!
Only thing to note ,when the vet investigated a little pimple I've found in his chest,it appears his microchip has migrated round from his neck ,nothing to worry about she says ....but now I'm home and wondering if god forbid he got lost and a vet just gave him a cursory scan ...they might think he wasn't chipped?might give them a call back...I guess I just get him re chipped with the same details ....well if that's all I have to worry about all is well with us at the mo! X

Dex's tail looks great Angela. I bet he doesn't notice the differance and after all he went through being so good at the vets is great. Well done Dex. :D

Angela - be very careful if you get him re-chipped, can cause all sorts of problems with Pet Passports if you were ever to bring him back to the UK.

Thanks Lochan....that makes sense to be honest ::)do you mind telling me what normal practice is when a lost dog comes in?if there wasn't a chip in the usual place would you as practice scan the rest of its body?trust this to happen to Dexter.....a dog that might very well need to travel on a passport one day ::)
