So sorry that removing them wouldn't help, I can see what you mean. I wish with all my heart that he will get over this setback x

As a silent follower, (and probably speaking for many more folks who don’t generally comment, but who feel we know you and Sam and Nell from your posts) just wanted to say my heart goes out to you and Sam. Biggest healing warm wishes from me and Fergus ( 14 months chocolate loon lab) x

I'm so sorry to read this, Kate. I know there is no 'cure' per se, but I'm hoping that Sam's condition will go back into a quiet phase quickly and he be back to enthusiastically trying to fit three of his beloved balls into his big mouth again.

There is little change this morning . I will be ringing the Vets at 9 , for a chat about Sams degeneration , maybe she can give some painkillers for him , to make him more comfortable . Its a difficult time , we know that he cannot be cured , and I do not believe in keeping a dog going when its in pain with a terminal illness , but this disease is known for it ebb and flow . He always gets onto the sofa at night, but last night he chose to sleep on his bed , we know that he didn't get onto the sofa at all as the blanket wasn't disturbed . I had the slightest wag of a tail when I came to give him a hug just now . There will be no walks today, he isn't interested, but bless his heart, he is still eating . Thank you all, for your good wishes , they mean a lot xxx

That brought a few tears to my eyes. Hope he gets better over the next few days and the Vet can help to relieve some of his pain.
Glad you got a wagy tail from your cuddle
