It's such a great thing you and your dad are doing with puzzle. Sorry if you've answered this but do you plan to work her on real life searches when she is qualified ?

yes she will be able to go on real call outs when she is qualified, thats why i have to be 18 to qualify with her.

    Wow that's brilliant annabelle. ;D

I've only ever seen the search and rescue dogs on the telly but the job they do is amazing. I'm sure you and puzzle will be a real asset the way you are already progressing. Keep up the good work you will be the forums real life heroes soon. ;D

She is progressing very well at the moment, she is now learning to give us an alert/indication that she has found a 'body', which means that after she has run away and found the 'body' she still see's where they are hiding when doing this she will then race back to us and give her indication which is a bark then lead us back to the 'body' for what we call a re-find, on long run-outs we can get several re-finds in.

This is fascinating - how did you get involved in this work? We used to be very active mountaineering, trekking etc and while (thankfully) we never had need of the SAR team - we were always mindfull that one day..... Great cause!!

Annabelle - How do you train the task that you're talking about? You must keep us all updated on how progresses.
