We had a scary moment today with our 16 week old, Maggie. As my husband was bringing her back in the house from a potty he for some reason un hooked her leash at the door before they got in the house. She bolted and ran.( it was in the height of her zoomie period) Our property backs up to a very busy road through some woods and she took off running for the woods. I heard my husband call out to her and could hear the fear in his voice. I ran out the door. Gave my recall signal (one natural loud whistle) and then her word, "back") She came charging back at me full speed!! YAY. We have been working on it at least once a day on a long lead and I am so happy it worked when I needed it too. My husband thanked me for all my hard work with her and said, "I need to spend more time working with her" Just thought I would share!!

Very well done @jbg. Recall is such an important cue. May I suggest your husband gets the same whistle, carries it around his neck, and practises with her.
