Re: Scratched cornea Glad a great report came back Karen and that is such good advice to us all.....hope you can do the test tomorrow x
Re: Scratched cornea Such a relief for you Karen and good girl Poppy for being a good girl xx That's what I love about this forum it's not just about training etc. but informing everyone of potentially dangerous conditions/illnesses so that we are all more vigilant with our beloved dogs Thank you xxx
Re: Scratched cornea So glad Poppy is healing well fingers crossed she can take part in the working test x
Re: Scratched cornea So very very pleased to read this Karen , I can confirm how quickly a seemingly small ulcer/scratch can become potentially very serious indeed . Although we got Mils to the Vet the same day that we noticed something wrong, and were vigilant with the antibiotic gel , it turned into a Melting Ulcer within three days . So very relieved that Pops hasn't had to go through a similar thing , not nice at all , enjoy your weekend
Re: Scratched cornea Glad poppy is doing well and got the go ahead for the weekend. Good luck Hope you both do well. ;D
Re: Scratched cornea We took part in the working test, and she seemed fine! I will continue to apply the ointment as prescribed, but she seems soooo much better. She did really well in the WT, will write it up tomorrow, too tired now! Good night from Poppy and me
Re: Scratched cornea Glad it all went really well!! We've had some big wake-up calls with eyes lately.... I really had no idea how serious this kind of injury was and how slow to heal. Very grateful for all the info you (Karen) and Kate have shared.

Re: Scratched cornea We went for what I hope was a final check up yesterday. The scratch has healed, but apparently there is a tiny scar that will likely be there for ever, though I don't think it will bother her - a bit like a small scratch on a pair of glasses.
