The cats very helpfully leave a daily delivery of fresh rabbit or mouse for the dogs. That I can cope with. Tonight Meg dashed over to a cat that was teasing a mouse she picked it up and I said leave, she dropped it ! Wow I thought then quick as a flash she caught it again and gobbled the poor thing up in a micro second ! Yuck. I have a mouse killer in my home !!!!
Re: She ate a live mouse !!! Can I borrow your dog? We have mice and I would like not to have mice... Eating mice won't hurt her.....just don't look. It is kinda unpleasant to watch that kind of thing.... Just keep her worming up to date. Meg must be a Terrier in a Labrador coat
Re: She ate a live mouse !!! Hehe, extra protein! She obviously fancies a raw diet I used to have snakes, so this sort of thing doesn't bother me in the slightest!
Re: She ate a live mouse !!!
It wriggled and jiggled and tickled inside her!
I bet it didn't after a quick chomp
Re: She ate a live mouse !!! So.. it's ok for the cats to kill and eat the mice, but not the dog?? Do I detect a certain degree of canine versus feline double standards, hmm?? ;D ;D
Re: She ate a live mouse !!! It's when they suck up the tail like a string of spaghetti it looks disgusting. My trainers lab puppy Jen, who is a month younger than Juno, had a liking for mice and on one walk managed to gobble down 3! Unfortunately one of them didn't agree with her and she was sick all over the back of the car. Jen no longer bothers with mice......
Re: She ate a live mouse !!! Umm Karen not really ok for my cats to kill mice but I usually don't witness that. Meg eats dead stuff all the time it's just I saw the poor thing make a break for it when she gobbled it down. No ill effects of course just a desire to hang out with the cats for more spoils
Re: She ate a live mouse !!! My brother's cat came to the back door with a field mouse. He put it down in the ground but instead if running away, the mouse started running back at the cat attacking and boxing the cat's nose with his little mouse feet. The cat was quite taken aback and this went on for a while until the cat or the upper paw.
