All the talk about Labs shedding made me wonder. Do GSDs shed even more than Labs (is it possible?) I sometimes can't believe how much fur we can pick up each day. GSDs seem to have a similar double coat, but even thicker and longer. I just wondered if they shed a lot more. I don't recall that my Malamute shedded as continuously as our Labs, although when it was time to blow his coat there was a huge amount of fur.
There was recently a TV programme about what sort of puppy you should get. one of the things they looked at was shedding. The GSD was deemed most generous in the a out of hair it donated. Labs came second. I suppose there must be some element of, being large dogs they have a large skin from which to drop hair.
well I can vouch for the GSD x Lab - he sheds LOADS! All the time. But his coat isn't too thick. I have to empty the Dyson every day.
