Re: Shopping with Dogs Make sure you have a camera if you do to video their reaction. LOL McQueen goes shopping with me the only annoying part is that Greeks prefer dogs outside, puppy or not so I don't do it often in fear of him being taken. As for adult dogs that are well trained I'd say it would seem a treat ! But then again what do I know ? heheh
Re: Shopping with Dogs Only guide dogs allowed in shops here, but there's no way I would leave either of mine outside either alsone so would have to drag David or children so not sure it's worth it as they would moan endlessly!!! Would not leave the lovely McQueen outside. When my dad looked after Hattie about 3 years ago whilst we went on holiday he informed me that he had tied Hattie up outside a supermarket whilst he did his shopping every day for 2 weeks, I very nearly had a seizure!!!! Re: Shopping with Dogs Hi Helen, I think it is a good idea to take them into town or into the village on occasions, just to get them used to seeing new people etc. but wouldn't advise it with Charlie until he's really reliable on the lead... I take Poppy to the post office or the bakery occasionally, where I can see her outside through the door or window, but would never leave her unattended, it's just too dangerous. Sometimes I see people with their dogs at the shopping centre and wonder what that's all about... The poor dogs, surrounded by milling people, it must be miserable for them. :-\
Re: Shopping with Dogs Hi Karen, we are lucky that we live in the centre of our Village which consists of one shop/post office and a pub, so they do meet lots of people when we walk through to our off lead walk every day. I agree about shopping centres, when we were doing our Christmas Shopping there were dozens of dogs being dragged round and left outside shops and it was so busy for them. Not fare Thanks might try going to our local town when, as you say Charlie is more reliable on lead. Helen xx
