When I lived in a hotter climate with my dogs , they would often sleep most of the day , then were more active in the evenings when the temperature went down . I think your dog will be much more comfortable sleeping in the hot weather as long as there is plenty of shade and access to fresh cold drinking water at all times .

:) Expert advice would be something to get from your Vet. If your pup is dealing with HD then surely you are following a Vet's advice on how to manage her pain and exercise needs? What does your Vet say about AC? FWIW, we don't get that hot here, but close a few times, and if the AC is on the dog and the cats seem much more comfortable than when it's not, but we are not dealing with HD. It's pretty darn expensive to run AC, how much lower can you afford to drop the temperature anyway? I doubt you drop it enough to influence the HD but again, what does your Vet say?

Sorry, I don't have a professional opinion about aircon and HD but I can say what happens in our house. When the temperature hits the 40's our aircon runs 24/7 and Ella will always choose the coolest spot in the house to snooze. She pops outside to go to the toilet before resuming her position under the aircon.

As Kate mentions above, we find that Ella is very quiet when it's hot but her energy tends to come back with a vengeance when (if) the temperature drops in the evening. :pull:

It is fine to let your dog sleep in an airconditioned room. Helping her to stay cool is a very good thing :)

It is far better for your dog to sleep in an aircondtioned room than getting far too hot.

    Thanks alot.
I will give her sleep in ac room as she really like it she sleep relaxfully unlike outside. Her position is funny stomach upside.
I asked this question because one person told me ac will increase pain in back muscle and not good for bones anyways. Lot of expert her. I will let her sleep with me in ac.

Keeping a dog cool in the hot weather is important - it will be good for her to sleep in the room with the AC :)
