Re: Should the Labrador Site ban cross breeds! Peeping in to say Simba is glad he won't be banned. Aside from us, no one else appreciates him quite like you lot. ;D
Re: Should the Labrador Site ban cross breeds! I should also add that I don't mean to imply that I think that the only good cross-breeds are the ones on their way to development as pure breeds Just that the whole pure breed thing shouldn't be a closed shop. And, yep, big fan of Simba's here ;D
Re: Should the Labrador Site ban cross breeds! And here is my response to the FB thread Today's Article
Re: Should the Labrador Site ban cross breeds! I welcome all species of Labrador but wonder whether it wise to encourage owners of other breeds to join the club since they will almost certainly have their own sites. Perhaps in the future we could genetically engineer a breed of Labrador that could communicate with humans and defend their own interests rather than relying on man, mainly woman, to represent them? Roger
Re: Should the Labrador Site ban cross breeds! Well said Pippa . I have Labradors because they are a breed I know and love but we also have 3 resue dogs all crosses, one possibly has a bit of lab in him and a cocker spaniel in our family. I love all dogs . I guess I just love dogs I'm not prejudice. I have asked for advice for the other dogs on the forum and advice that's been given to me or others relating to Labradors I have used with the other dogs because guess what they are all dogs the majority of advice is transferable. I don't care whether it's a pure lab, a lab crossed with a great Dane or crossed with a Pekinese or a dog of indeterminate origin we should all help each other.
Re: Should the Labrador Site ban cross breeds! Very good. Glad to hear our labradoodles, spaniels, GSPs and ducklings are safe! Phew!
Re: Should the Labrador Site ban cross breeds! And those silver lab or lab cross (I don't care which) puppies in the video are absolutely gorgeous!
Re: Should the Labrador Site ban cross breeds! I suspect that many members, like myself, joined this forum because they own a Labrador , some joined because they own a Lab X , Labradoodle or Spaniel . Like some others , I also own a cross which is about as far removed from a gundog breed as you could get, but she has been welcomed into the fold . Her problems , issues , whatever , are often the same as those of the Labrador , they are all dogs . I am pleased that we have a Labrador forum of course, but what a sad world it would be if we became the most frightful dog snobs and banned all our other lovely furry friends
Re: Should the Labrador Site ban cross breeds! I love the 'dog snob' term Kate, and will be certain to use it in the future! I certainly know a few people who it accurately describes..
Roger
I joined this site because I have always enjoyed reading Pippa's articles, blogs and training manuals. Plus she has bred my beautiful Alice. Right from the start it was clear to all other members that I am a spaniel girl through and through but nobody here ever held that against me. ;D I have always found that watching and learning about other breeds of gundogs can teach me a lot and yesterday a couple of little Jack Russells taught me a couple of tricks I hadn't seen in the beating line on the shoot before. I wold encourage anybody with whatever breed or crossbreed of dog to come and join us here on our friendly little forum. I'm sorry, but the second part of your comment I don't quite understand ??? .
Re: Should the Labrador Site ban cross breeds! I wonder what some of the people who commented on the Facebook page of the Labrador site would make of this dog?! http://www.pawnation.com/2013/07/24/calico-dog-may-be-a-chimera/
Re: Should the Labrador Site ban cross breeds! Very cute dog! Heidrun, you make such a contribution to this forum, and help so many of us - it would much poorer without you and your lovely spaniels.

Re: Should the Labrador Site ban cross breeds! I took this one yesterday between drives. Murffi sporting the 'wet look'.
Re: Should the Labrador Site ban cross breeds! Murffi is so gorgeous could just hug him even wet. ;D The lab in the link is amazing. I guess that would solve the problem if you couldn't decide on a yellow or black lab.
Re: Should the Labrador Site ban cross breeds! Murffi you sport the wet look extremely well, gorgeous as ever xx
