Re: Should the Labrador Site ban cross breeds!
I suspect that many members, like myself, joined this forum because they own a Labrador , some joined because they own a Lab X , Labradoodle or Spaniel . Like some others , I also own a cross which is about as far removed from a gundog breed as you could get, but she has been welcomed into the fold . Her problems , issues , whatever , are often the same as those of the Labrador , they are all dogs . I am pleased that we have a Labrador forum of course, but what a sad world it would be if we became the most frightful dog snobs and banned all our other lovely furry friends
Brilliant Kate, I joined the forum because I needed urgent help with Charlie and I got in spade loads and where would I be without all of you xx Thank you Pippa for standing up for cross breeds, life would be extremely boring if everything were "perfect" Pippa, Hattie & Charlie are a little upset they didn't get the modelling contract for the Labrador Site ;D ;D Beautiful choc Labradoodle
Re: Should the Labrador Site ban cross breeds! You mean Murfi is a Spaniel? I thought he was a very small curly-coated Labrador!

Re: Should the Labrador Site ban cross breeds! I don't think that actually banning anything was ever on the table This thread was just meant to be an interesting discussion prompted by some fervent comments over on the Facebook page.
Re: Should the Labrador Site ban cross breeds! My girl, Meg who's almost 14 is a lab cross although to look at her she looks a definite lab. She's 95% lab and vet when we rescued her thought she was 5% pointer. She's had the same health problems as other labs, i.e. OCD and HP. It's never bothered me that she's a cross, just fell in love with her and she needed to be rescued. She's got all the lab traits, friendly, gentle, loving, playful, loyal, caring, blimey the list could go on forever! Bless her she's frightened of spiders, runs away from rabbits if they suddenly appear in front of us. She's given us loads of laughs over the years. Love her to bits.
Re: Should the Labrador Site ban cross breeds! He He Lablover.....that reminds me of my in-laws lab ;D Before Scott came along to disturb her "holidays" with us (she got really upset at crying babies), I recall taking her for a walk in a small patch of woodland across the road where we lived. Merrily, Holly was chasing a bunny when it disappeared into some undergrowth - it then turned around after half a minute or so of Holly sniffing around and popped its head back out! What a fright - it was like she gave out a shriek and came haring back to me!! It was SO funny.
Re: Should the Labrador Site ban cross breeds! Please don't ban us as first time dog owner...and mostly Lab...honestly....me and Poppy find you all sooooo helpful, I only pop in and out but always get sound advice and love reading about all the other doggies...
