    Hi,

We've booked in to view a litter of yellow and black Labrador puppies. The Dam is yellow but the Sire is silver. We've done a little research on the Silver Labrador and it seems to be a controversial topic!

Most of the information and advice we've found pertains to owning a silver lab or getting a silver lab puppy. However, we are getting a yellow puppy and have been assured that the litter are yellow and black only.

Should we be concerned about our yellow lab having silver heritage, given the controversies surrounding this topic?

    Thanks

The most important thing for me for any litter is that they're well planned, well looked after and the parents are health tested. I want sound temperaments in both parents, good health testing results and a breeder I trust.

If all of that is in place you know what they say....no good dog is a bad colour :)

As Barbara says above, it shouldnt matter as long as both parents have had all the health tests. Let us know how you get on.

    Same as Barbara.
And make sure you don't pay over the odds because "Dad is Silver".
